Lord Steel of Aikwood - PresidentLord Steel of Aikwood is president of FBHVC. Born in Kirkcaldy, Scotland he still lives north of the border with wife Judith. He is a member of the House of Lords and of the All Party Parliamentary Historic Vehicles Group. He is also a member of the Jaguar Drivers ClubDavid Hurley - Vice PresidentDavid lives in Worthing, Sussex with wife, Jenny. Prior to retirement he worked in the insurance industry and he joined FHBVC in 1991 as the commercial vehicle representative. On the Federation’s incorporation he joined the board as legislation director. He is chairman of the Working Omnibus Museum Project and a life member of the Historic Commercial Vehicle Society. He is also a member of the Albion Club.Andrew Burt - Vice PresidentBorn in Kirkcaldy, Scotland Andrew now lives in Duxford, Cambridgeshire and Girard, France. Until his retirement, Andrew practiced as a solicitor. Prior to joining the Board he served on the legislation team. He is a member of the Morris Minor Owners Club.David Davies - Vice PresidentDavid lives in Brigg, Lincolnshire with wife, Carolien. He trained as a metallurgist and prior to his retirement was a photographer with steel group, Corus. He is a director and journal editor of the Vintage Motorcycle Club and a member of LE Owner’s Club, Rudge Enthusiasts Club, Moto Guzzi Owners Club, The British Two Stroke Club, The Mercedes Benz Owners Club and the 680/MO Club.David Whale - ChairmanDavid lives in Hamstall Ridware, Staffordshire with wife, Barbara. Following a long and successful career managing his own consultancy he now specialises in leadership development programmes with multi-cultural teams. David joined the FBHVC board in October 2010 and is a member also of Goodwood Road Racing Club, MG Car Club, Porsche Club GB, and the Mini Moke Club. He represents FBHVC internationally as Senior Vice President, Operations for Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens. David also finds time to serve the RAC Motorsports Association as a steward and clerk of course.Tony Davies - Events DirectorTony lives in Cheltenham with wife, Rose. A former civil servant, he is vice president of the Civil Service Motoring Association. Tony joined the FBHVC Board in 2007 and is also a member of the Historic Endurance Rally Organisation, the Historic Rally Car Register, the Classic Rally Association and the Endurance Rally Association.Geoff Lancaster - Communications DirectorGeoff lives in Peterborough with wife, Maureen. He was formerly head of external affairs at FTSE 100 food company, Associated British Foods plc having started his career as a Product Planner with British Leyland. Geoff joined the board of FBHVC in 2013 and is also a member of the management committee of the Maserati Club. He has memberships of the Chartered Institute of Journalists and of the Society of Automotive Historians.Bob Owen - Legislation DirectorBorn in Ayr, Scotland, Bob now lives in Chetnole, Dorset. A lawyer by profession, he is a former commercial director of Westland Helicopters. He is chairman of the Yeovil Car Club and also belongs to the Sunbeam Talbot Alpine Register and the Alfa Romeo Owners Club.Karl Carter - Skills DirectorKarl lives in Chatteris with his wife Elaine. He was formally Agriculture and Operations Director for British Sugar and retired two years ago, after 40 years with the business. Karl has significant experience in large scale manufacturing and engineering, together with the need to develop skills for the future, such as the introduction of apprentice schemes. Karl joined the Board of FBHVC in 2013 and is a member of the Alvis Owner Club. Keith Gibbins - Heritage DirectorKeith lives in Sevenoaks, Kent with wife, June. A telecoms and IT specialist, Keith joined the FBHVC board in 2013 and is on the committee of the Morgan Sports Car Club. He serves as a committee member of the West Kent Section of the Vintage Motorcycle Club and is Treasurer of the British Two Stroke Club. He is also a member of the Royal Enfield Owners Club and the MZ Riders Club.Paul Chasney - Research DirectorPaul lives with his wife Lisa in Yorkshire. He graduated with a degree in economics and accounting from Manchester University in 1971 and went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant. During his professional career he was involved in a wide range of accounting work, including due diligence investigations, flotations and spent six months seconded to Government in the Department of the Environment. Paul also spent a period working in the United States and undertook projects in Hong Kong and Australasia.Emma Balaam - SecretaryEmma lives in Upminster, Essex with her husband Paul and young son Thomas. She is the proud owner of an original 1973 Mk 1 Escort Mexico in Sebring Red. Ford has a long established heritage running through her family with both father and uncle's working for the Ford Motor Company. Emma was previously the Club Administrator for The Ford RS Owners Club (1990) Ltd and has also previously worked in the Banking and Pharmaceutical industries. She also has a keen interest in the Art Deco Period and 1970's & 1980's BMX bikes.
