Buckinghamshire Railway Centre

Buckinghamshire Railway Centre is a heritage railway museum based in the village of Quainton, occupying a 25–acre site which has three railway lines and is full of memorabilia.

Our magnificent and unique glass-roofed Visitor Centre is at the heart of our site. This amazing structure, formerly the Rewley Road railway station, was dismantled and relocated here from Oxford city centre in 2002. It complements our large collection of historic locomotives, rolling stock and artefacts at varying stages of restoration.

We operate Steaming days throughout our main season (April-September), when visitors are taken back in time to the Age of Steam! We also run regular events like Steam Galas and vehicle rallies, and family days out like our popular Day out with Thomas™, Teddy’s Train Ride and our Christmas Specials.

Our site offers car clubs an interesting place to meet on our Steaming Sundays throughout the season. We have spacious car parking facilities and a new 7-acre showground with access to our on-site café.

Also, our café and gift shop are also open Monday to Fridays between 9.30 and 2pm, if mid-week meets are of interest. (The museum and train rides do not operate mid-week.) For car meet enquiries, please email us at events@bucksrailcentre.org
