All Motor Clubs Welcome to visit Transport Museum Wythall - driver and vehicle FREE

Published: 07/02/2022

Transport Museum Wythall is an exciting venue for any transport enthusiast. If you're a Club why not hold a meet at the Museum? It tells the story of public transport in the West Midlands through a collection of over 90 buses, all visitors are offered free bus rides on open days. Families are also catered for with a steam powered miniature railway, a café, shop and children’s play area. There’s something for everyone.

Alongside the buses is a unique and varied collection of battery electric vehicles; milk floats, bread vans and even a post office delivery vehicle, showing that nothing is new. Electricity was a driving force even 100 years ago. Electric car clubs are most welcome as there are two charging points on site.

For 2022 the museum has a new themed exhibition on the history of Birmingham City Transport allied to the city’s hosting of the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Ideally located in the centre of England just off J3 of the M42, the venue caters for all transport enthusiasts – cars, vans, light commercial vehicles, military vehicles, motorcycles and scooters and even steam power. Road runs and annual gatherings can be accommodated on most days during the operating season (please avoid main event days) with space for the equivalent of at least eighty cars. Vehicle and driver have free entry with passengers paying the normal rates and classic bus rides can be dedicated to your group.

Tea and coffee can be provided on arrival and the museum can open for groups outside of normal opening days by arrangement. Block bookings with a single payment are preferred and avoid queuing upon entry.
