Cambridge club marks 70th anniversary

The Cambridge Austin 7 & Vintage Car Club is celebrating its 70th anniversary.

The celebrations included a gathering of Austin 7’s and Vintage Cars on Rampton Village Green, a Ceilidh in the Village Hall and a magnificent birthday cake. The birthday cake measured 32cm by 50cm with enough for everyone with some left over.

The club was formed in 1956 by a group of university students. It was not long before the students sought the help of a local garage owner and made him an honorary member.

Other local enthusiasts joined and eventually the club separated from the university.
