DVLA Review

Published: 24/01/2024

The Deputy Director of the Public Body Review, Shareholdings, Appointments & Inquiry (SAI) team has updated us on the progress of the DVLA Review.

The review, launched on 26 July, 2023 will assess the DVLA based on the four pillars set by the Cabinet Office of efficiency, efficacy, accountability and governance.

Janette Beinart, non-executive director of the Cabinet Office and National Highways, and previously vice president and global chief information officer at Shell International, has been appointed to lead the review with support from DfT officials.

The chairman of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, David Whale, presented what totalled 12 pages of evidence to the Review.   The evidence gathering phase has now been completed, all feedback has been recorded and is being considered by Janette Beinart.

Ms Beinart intends to submit a report of her findings, including a series of recommendations, to Transport Ministers in the Spring.
