DVSA - COVID-19 - IVA Tests Suspended for 3 Months

Published: 24/03/2020

COVID-19: Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) tests suspended for 3 months

Due to the unfolding COVID-19 situation, vehicle approval tests are now suspended for up to 3 months.

This applies to all types of vehicle approval tests, including:

  • individual vehicle approval (IVA)
  • motorcycle single vehicle approval (MSVA)
  • certificate of initial fitness (COIF)

What this means for you

We have published guidance on what this means if you have a test booked.

If you have a test booked, you do not need to do anything now. You will get an email to tell you your test has been rebooked, with the date and time of the new test. This will be sent around two weeks before the new date.

If your vehicle is critical to the COVID-19 response

You can ask us for an emergency test if your vehicle is critical to the COVID-19 response.
