Federation Headlines Apprentices and Security At Restoration Show

The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC) is today announcing exciting plans for its stand at the Practical Classics Restoration and Classic Car Show. This is the second year of this new show and promises to build on the success of the inaugural show last year.

FBHVC last year featured two interesting unrestored Italian barn finds on its stand. This year to mark the launch of the UK’s only OFQUAL accredited apprenticeship in Vehicle Restoration, a group of the first intake of students will be carrying out a live restoration on the stand. The students, from Banbury and Bicester College will be available to share their experiences of the new course with prospective students and their lecturers will also be in attendance.

Training has been a major theme for FBHVC over the last 18 months but is not the only focus. Historic vehicle theft is growing alarmingly as values outpace almost everything else including gold! The Federation has teamed up again with West Midlands Police who have been at the forefront of vehicle crime prevention. Crime prevention officers will be on the stand to give security advice and demonstrate the various approved products that are available to secure your prized classic. Members of FBHVC affiliated clubs will be able to purchase the Federation’s approved forensic marking kit at over a third off the normal retail price.
