Published: 01/08/2019

The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC) was invited to visit the headquarters of the Department for Transport, at Great Minister House, Horseferry Road, London on 31 July 2019. The purpose of the visit was to meet the team leading the consultation into proposals to ban the use of tyres older than ten years on certain vehicles.

Members of the FBHVC were represented by Chairman, David Whale, Legislation Director, Bob Owen, Legislation Manager, Dave Daniel and Vice President, David Hurley who has extensive experience of preserving and operating larger vehicles over the past fifty years.

The meeting was a pre-cursor to the submission of the FBHVC’s response to the consultation. We received a cordial welcome and were given a full opportunity to set out and explain our views. We will be publishing our submission at an appropriate time in the near future.
