The Vintage Sports Car News

The Club and myself were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Peter Glover last weekend.

Peter was the longest serving Committee member by a considerable margin, completing 42 years in a variety of roles. He was President from 2001 to 2004 and I was lucky to serve alongside him on Committee for two years. As a young(ish) female coming into a male dominated meeting, Peter went out of his way to put me at ease but also to offer words of wisdom in the way only Peter could.

Those kind and gentle but ever wise words have steered many of us in our VSCC journeys and Peter was part of the fabric of the Club.

He made time for everybody from fellow past presidents, to enthusiasts he met for the first time and we can all learn from the manner he greeted everybody, making time for all with a true gentlemanly nature shining through.

He will be missed by the Club, that is not in doubt, but he touched the lives of so many members who will deeply feel this loss. I count myself privileged to have known him.
Our thoughts are with his family, including his grandchildren who he was so proud of.
