Racing royalty on the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs' NEC stand!

Published: 17/03/2025

Prepare to be wowed by the incredibly rare 1921 Horstman Super Sports, being exhibited on the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Club's stand (Hall 5 5-425) at the Practical Classics Classsic Car and Restoragtion Show at the NEC from Friday.

As the only known survivor of this early racing legend, it’s a living testament to the rise of motorsport as a competitive sport. This incredible car was once primed for Brooklands and Le Mans, making its appearance at the show a must-see for any enthusiast.

It is one of at least three vehicles on display on the Federation's stand., along with a part-restored Jaguar E-type and an under-restoration AC Cobra, which will be displayed separated into its body and chassis, for an 'under the skin' look.

The Heritage Skills Academy, which runs the classic car apprenticeship scheme - which has now welcomed more than 200 apprentices - will be showing its talents with demonstrations of panel forming, using a wheeling machine, and trimming with a demonstration using a sewing machine.

Based on the Federation's stand - which originally kick-started the apprenticehsip scheme - each day, a four different apprentices will be on hand to show their skills and explain what it's like being a classic car apprentice.

Also, the Federation will be selling 'Drive-it Day' rally plaques, raising money for the NSPCC's Childline, ahead of the annual event on 27 April. https://www.driveitday.co.uk/shop
