Vintage Sports Car Club win Classic & Sports Car Club Awards Club of the Year

The Classic & Sports Car Club Awards, in association with Lancaster Insurance, celebrate the lifeblood of the car club community, recognising club personalities, publications and the displays at the Classic Motor Show.

The awards are co-ordinated by Deputy Editor Lizzie Pope and were presented at a reception during the Classic Motor Show weekend at the NEC in Birmingham. Announcing Club of the Year, Editor Alistair Clements said The Vintage-Sports Car Club were recognised for continuing to innovate after accepting some post war classics into the Club for the first time and the Club’s dedication to the younger generation, with approximately one in ten competitors aged 30 or under.

The Vintage Sports-Car Club were also delighted to see several friends win or receive highly commended status including the Bugatti Owners Club, who were shortlisted both for their fantastic stand over the weekend and in the Lifetime Achievement category, celebrating long time marshal Dave Orchard who retires after 65 years service. Close to the Club’s heart is the world of Austin 7 owners and the Pre-War Austin Seven Club were also award winners. Liam Murphy won the Digital Media award for documenting his time with a car as part of the Classic Car Loan Project, promoting classic car ownership to a younger audience. Congratulations to all the winners and finalists on a night which showed the car club community is still vibrant, full of new ideas and innovation with renewed hope for the future after all the challenges of the COVID period.
