VSCC - When Paddy, Chris & Freddie came to play...

Published: 05/07/2022

On Sunday 3 July, BBC’s Top Gear aired the final instalment of the current series and they chose the VSCC’s Herefordshire Trial to be the backdrop of a celebration of 100 years of the BBC. The stunning scenery was just part of a exploration of a thriving grassroots motorsport discipline.

Club Secretary Tania Brown said "We are delighted that the Top Gear programme was able to throw a spotlight on one of the most social and fun aspects of our events programme. Trials are hugely popular and attract a great cross section of members, young and old alike. The future of our sport relies on attracting new members and trialling is an accessible way to take part, either as a bouncer or in one of the many more budget friendly vintage cars available."

"It is import to ensure entry level opportunities for those interested in motorsport, vintage cars may not seem like the obvious choice but many of our newer and younger members find that they learn many valuable skills purchasing and maintaining cars like Austin 7’s many of which are competitively priced against modern machinery."

The programme will be available on iPlayer but you can see our own behind the scenes videos and find out more using the link below.
