Federation Announces Changes to Legislation Team

Published: 16/05/2014

The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC), the national representative body that lobbies on behalf of its member historic vehicle clubs for rights of access to the highway, has announced changes to personnel in its front line legal team.

Nigel Harrison, has stepped down, after six years of service, from his post as DVLA Liaison to devote more time to his own historic vehicle interests. His particular passion is Morris Commercials. The DVLA brief is particularly challenging in that it demands a total grasp of the policies and procedures of this complex Government agency and an ability to guide member clubs in their efforts to navigate successfully through its complexities. Nigel's total grasp of his subject is legendary and he will be missed

We are however pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Edmunds to this role. Ian has held several posts with FBHVC in the past and has extensive motor industry experience. As a devotee of Alvis cars and Brough Superior motorcycles he appreciates the challenges facing owners of both two and four- wheeled historic vehicles. He will join the Legislation Committee with immediate effect.

Commenting on these changes, Legislation Director, Bob Owen said, "Nigel has put immense effort into this task and has built strong links with DVLA during what has been a time of significant change for the Agency. We wish him well as he returns to his Club activity. At the same time we look forward to Ian building on Nigel's firm foundation and we are delighted to be able to welcome such a strong candidate back to the fold".
