Heritage Skills Academy brings home prestigious award

We’re delighted to announce that the Heritage Skills Academy (HSA) won Industry Supporter of the Year at the International Historic Motoring Awards.
The award was collected by HSA’s Kyra Hill and Janice Pitchforth at the ceremony staged at the Peninsula, London.
Creation of the HSA, which has training centres at Brooklands and Bicester, is the result of a collaboration through the FBHVC’s charity - the Federation Skills Trust.
The International Historic Motoring Awards is regarded as the most prestigious global celebration in the collector car community, recognising excellence and achievement across the world.
“This award recognises the individual or organisation that has made the greatest contribution to the collector car world this year - and we are incredibly proud to have been honoured in such a significant category” say HSA Operations Director Janice Pitchforth and Operations Manager Kyra Hill.
“A heartfelt thank you to our staff, apprentices, employers, and supporters. Your dedication, passion and belief in what we do made this achievement possible. We couldn’t have done it without you.
“Heritage Skills Academy has worked extra hard this year not just to train its students in all aspects of classic car restoration and maintenance, but also to publicise its work with, among others, an inspirational display of skills at the 2025 Goodwood Revival.
“Behind every achievement, are the people who make it possible. Thank you to every member of the team for the energy, professionalism and dedication that they bring each day. This recognition reflects our collective effort.
“Their expertise, commitment and hard work underpin everything we deliver. From supporting employers and apprentices to running our academies and ensuring our programmes remain industry-leading, this award simply wouldn’t have been possible without them. We couldn't be prouder.”
The HSA is the only organisation delivering dedicated apprenticeships for the historic car and historic motorsport sectors - helping to protect skills the industry was at risk of losing.
With around 200 apprentices in training, 130 qualified engineers, and more employers joining each year, its work continues to strengthen the future of historic engineering nationwide.
