Published: 16/07/2025

Wigton Motor Club, the largest motor club in the north of England embraced Motor Sport UK’s National Motor Sport Week in two ways.

They invited the local MP for Penrith and the Solway, Markus Campbell Savours to their Cars and Coffee meet at their HQ, the Motor House, to meet nearly 100  members and discuss such items and the upgrading of the A66, the importance of motorsport to the economy, and the need for facilities for motorsport in Cumberland.

Makus Campbell Savours MP (left) and WMC committee member Chris Leece are pictured at the meeting.

Also, they took 15 of their junior members (between 6 and 16 years old) to the Rowrah Kart Circuit for a tester session. They all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and persuaded their parents or grandparents to pay for a second session the same evening!
