Organisers GE Classic Motor Events Add Modern Classics to London Brighton Run 2020 Line-Up

Published: 10/01/2020

GE Classic Motor Events, the organisers of the popular London to Brighton Classic Car Run and Kit & Sports Car Run, have added a Modern Classics Run to its 2020 events held on Sunday 31st May.

Stephen Smith from GE Classic Motor Events said: “As the classic car scene has expanded, so have the existing runs. With more owners of cars from the 1980s and 90s wanting to join the fun, this seemed the natural progression. Our event is about celebrating vehicles on the road so it’s very much more the merrier!”

Sponsored by ClassicLine Insurance, the new Modern Classic Run is open to all vehicles manufactured between February 1979 and 31st December 1999.

Starting at the beautiful Greenwich Park alongside the Classic Car and Kit & Sports Car Runs, the Modern Classics Run will enjoy a midway stop at Penshurst Place in Kent before heading to the finish line at Brighton’s Madeira Drive.

Whilst 2020 sees the inaugural Modern Classics Run, the Classic Car Run celebrates its 32nd year. Open to all cars pre-1979, the Run hosts a fabulous mix of 300 classic and vintage cars. This year’s midway point is the Wings Museum in Sussex, which houses planes and aviation artefacts from the first and second World War.

The third run is for Kit & Sports Cars which celebrates its 20th year in 2020. With no age limits on entries, this Run also welcomes replica cars as well as Kit and Sports Cars. Stopping midway at Saint Hill Manor on the outskirts of East Grinstead, these vehicles will join the others at the iconic seaside location.

At Madeira Drive, which is also the finish point for the famous Veteran Car Run, entrants will be greeted by the commentator before the awards ceremony which will announce the various winners as well as the best period dressed participants, longest distance travelled and a few other special awards on the day.

The entry fee in all classes of entry is £110.00 per crew of driver and navigator, with all run participants receiving a commemorative numbered rally board and sold brass rally plaque, a Tulip style route book, and a personalised certificate of entry.

Entries are allocated on a first come/first served basis with a closing date of 30th April 2020. To enter, visit www.classicmotorevents.co.uk or Tel: 07484 151 519.
