The Bentley Foundation Museum achieves Accreditation Status

Published: 09/12/2025

The Bentley Foundation Museum is delighted to announce that it has been awarded Accredited Museum status by Arts Council England.  Adminstered by Arts Council England on behalf of the UK Accreditation Partnership, Accreditation is the benchmark for well-run Museums and Galleries.

This seal of approval is recognition of the Bentley Foundation Museum is properly managed and governed to the nationally agreed industry standard and shows the Museum takes proper care of its collections, sharing them with visitors and keeping them safe for future generations.

The Bentley Foundation Museum is the only museum dedicated to sharing the story of the Bentley Legend.

The Museum’s vision is to inspire everyone with stories of the life of WO Bentley, Bentley Motors, the Bentley Drivers Club and the WO Bentley Memorial Foundation, relating the people, events and cars which have shaped the Bentley Legend and its influence from 1888 to today.

Accreditation opens up exciting funding opportunities, allows museums to host touring exhibitions and gives access to professional advice and support. It also gives confidence to donors and sponsors who may wish to support the museum in preserving heritage and inspiring future generations.

Accreditation covers museums of all types and sizes – from the smallest volunteer-run museums to national museums – and more than 1,700 museums are currently taking part in the scheme across the UK.
