Vacancy at Peter James Insurance for CLUB LIAISON

The role
At Peter James Insurance, we are best known for our classic and vintage vehicle insurance including specialist options such as agreed value, laid-up cover, multi-vehicle policies and more. We have a long established and well-respected track record in working with clubs and societies within the historic vehicle sector and are currently seeking to further develop and expand those relationships. The individual we seek, would join us to take the lead on building strategic relationships and provide account and relationship management for a range of vehicle clubs and affinities.   

The role holder will act as the link between a range of vehicle clubs and the Peter James’s management and client facing teams. The role holder will be closely involved in approaches to new clubs and affinities, helping us built our understanding of the needs of each club/affinity and in crafting solutions and proposals to those clubs/affinities. The role holder will also be actively involved in the ongoing delivery of services, support and expertise to our club partners.

What you will do
The focus of the role is on helping to establish us as the leading insurance broking partner to cherished vehicle clubs and affinities. The role will evolve as we progress on this journey. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the external face of Peter James Insurance (PJI) with the club and affinity community.
  • Promoting the value of high-quality insurance products to the cherished vehicle movement.
  • Working closely with clubs to understand their current, emerging and future needs and wants from an insurance solution
  • Working with the PJI management team and our historic vehicles consultant, Wayne Scott to identify target clubs and affinities and providing input to proposals and offerings to those targets. 
  • Acting as the key relationship holder with the leadership and committee members at clubs and affinities - Acting as the point of escalation for issues and concerns by clubs and affinities
  • Working with the PJI team to design and deliver solutions and service propositions 
  • Providing input and insight into future product requirements - Acting as the voice of PJI in the club and affinity community


Who you are
Key personal attributes and experience include:

  • A significant interest in classic vehicles of all types
  • An active participant in the classic vehicle movement
  • Preferably, an understanding of insurance products and the insurance needs of club members
  • An understanding of how the Classic Vehicle Club sector operates and the key needs and expectations of Clubs are evolving
  • Self-motivated and highly results orientated
  • Sufficiently mobile & flexible to travel

  • You must pay due regard to the interests of customers and treat them fairly
